Life is too short to read bad books

I can't remember where I was blog surfing this week when a blogger said how she'd been trying to read a particular book for 2 months! She wasn't getting into it though and just felt like she should finish it just because she'd started. (This is different from reading slowly and still being busy on a book 2 months later...)

Well, I left a comment and told her, Life is too short to force yourself to read books you don't enjoy.

Isn't this just how life goes though because on Friday night I picked up a fiction book from my library pile and started reading. Well, it wasn't very bad but it definitely didn't grab me and I could see it was just more of the same, being repeated, one chapter after another (I read fast so I got through about 40 - 50 pages very quickly).

So I took my own advice, ripped out my bookmark and stopped reading.

And you know what? I felt free!

So much so that today I returned some clothes I wasn't sure about. The one jacket was a gorgeous pink but the style wasn't quite right for my body shape. And I'd bought a shirt that was pretty, looked good on me but quite honestly, I know that I won't really wear it. Because I don't wear shirts in winter - it's too cold in Jhb.

Cool...

Now, what else is life too short for?

Life is too short to feel guilty.
Life is too short to wear clothes that don't look good on you.
Life is too short to say yes to things that you really want to say no to.
Life is also too short to force yourself to read magazines when you just want to throw them out.

What else?
